The borough of Brooklyn, New York is home to many bakeries and cafes serving up some of the fluffiest, lightest and best baked goodies to delight anyone with a sweet tooth. When visions of cupcakes, cookies, pies, muffins, scones and tarts fill your mind, stop by any one of these baked treats shops, pick a few items, and enjoy.

Sweet Irene

For custom cakes and confections, the place to go is Sweet Irene on Third Avenue where folks who need something special for their event can be assured that their classic or whimsically themed product will not only taste great, but will look awesome, too.

Don't forget, the shop also offers cupcakes, and with a minimum order of just 24 pieces, these mini cakes are the perfect treats for your party guests.

Crumbs Bake Shop

With many locations throughout New York, Crumbs Bake Shop has become one of those go-to places for cupcakes and cakes, which are topped with nuts, sprinkles, marshmallow and fruits. Be prepared to be tempted by a lot of interesting and flavorful choices when you visit.

For instance, how about cupcakes with sea salt and caramel, lemon or chocolate?

They also have a variety of muffins, perfect for breakfast, or any time the mood strikes you.

Connecticut Muffin

Head over to any of Connecticut Muffin's six Brooklyn locations for something sweet, such as their assortment of muffin flavors, including corn, apple cinnamon or coffee cake yogurt. Why not try their chocolate pecan or pumpkin pies, as well?

You'll discover that the bakeshop also serves up savory soups, tasty sandwiches, plus an array of breads, such as bagels and croissants. Now, you have reason to stay for lunch or dinner, too.

Le Pain Quotidien

With various locations throughout New York City, Le Pain Quotidien offers guests a relaxed setting where they can enjoy freshly baked goods, breakfast items, salads and soups, within the intimate seating areas, or at one of the wooden communal tables.

During pleasant weather, ask for a table under one of the black umbrellas within the sidewalk seating section, like the one shown below, from the Brooklyn Heights branch. Sample additional fare, such as Belgian waffles and pear turnovers, plus organic muffins and loaves at your outdoor vantage point.

You might have a difficult time choosing which baked goods you want to eat onsite. Don't fret, though. Take a scone, slice of pie or cupcake to go, plus an order of coffee, and savor them later.

Aside from these places, where do you go for the best baked goods in Brooklyn, New York?
