Participants learn how to drive in different conditions
Advanced and defensive driving courses teach participants valuable and necessary skills, as well as knowledge that will help them to become safer and more experienced drivers. There are a number of reputable and popular advanced driving courses available around Sydney, perfect for every level of driver.
The Eastern Creek Driver Training Centre is based at Eastern Creek International Raceway, approximately 45 minutes drive from the Sydney CBD. The centre is also easily accessible by train and the nearest train station is Blacktown, which is only 12 kilometres away.
The Defensive Driving Course is a one-day course offered in two stages, with each stage involving a theory session, as well as driving activity. Drivers are given a lecture on topics such as road rules, the dangers of tailgating, fatigue and car safety. When it comes to the practical side of the course, drivers learn about speed and stopping distances, emergency braking, lane changing and skid control.
Stage Two of the Defensive Driving Course concentrates more heavily on skid and car control, and is only available to those who have completed Stage One of the course and for fully licensed motorists only. The second stage of this course involves less theory than Stage One and uses repetitious practice to enhance driving skills. Once participants have completed both stages of the Defensive Driving Course, they have gained a more thorough understanding of how to control their vehicle under both everyday and dangerous situations. Each stage of the course runs for a day from 8.45 a.m. until 4 p.m. Participants are asked to use their own vehicle and gift certificates are also available.

Students are expected to use their own vehicles, however learner's permit holders are unable to attend the course. Gift certificates may also be purchased.
