Breakfast and/or brunch on the weekend should be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Where on the Redcliffe peninsula would you venture out to, on either Saturday or Sunday for such an experience?

Breakfast at 'the Bel' was our choice recently. Located at the end of Oxley Avenue in Woody Point, The overlooking the bay, is such a place of relaxation and home to big breakfasts.

I enjoyed Sunday breakfast here with my 2 favourite boys who both chose the Big Breakfast (Eggs, bacon, grilled tomato, mushrooms, potato hash, baked beans and chipolatas for $19). And big it was. Bring your appetite (or friends to share!)

I, on the other hand, sat down to a simple but delicious breakfast of poached eggs, grilled tomatoes with mushrooms and rye sourdough. All enjoyed with a well made double shot cappuccino.

The Belvedere hotel has had a recent make over and now boasts up to seating for 550 in 4 different areas. For breakfast, though you are able to sit in any of these areas which includes the Lounge Bar, The Pavilion, the 1901 bar (the year the hotel was built) and the open deck.

The Belvedere is situated on Bramble Bay in Woody Point and if you are lucky enough to be here at the end of day, you will be privileged to see the sunset over the water. Truly magical. The is an iconic hotel on the Redcliffe Peninsula and has had many transformations over its time.

It is open 7 days for Breakfast from 7.30 to 11am, lunch from 11.30 to 2.30 and dinner from 5pm to 8.30pm (9pm on Friday to Sunday nights)

It is famous for its Steak and Seafood menu offering the best of the Surf and Turf. We have dined here in the past for dinner and have enjoyed the offerings of both Seafood and Steak.

The Belverdere Hotel also hosts many different functions and events throughout the year and checking out its website will keep you informed of such events. Weddings and special functions are also catered for at the Belverdere.

So if you are venturing to the Redcliffe Peninsula for the weekend or through the week, you won't be disappointed if you happen to stop by at the Bel for a bite to eat or a drink or two.
