Belly Dancing Classes

Belly dancing is one of the oldest styles of dancing in the world. It is also a sensual and invigorating form of self expression, and a great way to exercise.

Hipnotic Bellydance (Clearview Centre, 3 Clearview Terrace, Seven Hills) is one of Brisbane's most popular belly dancing studio's and is run by a dancer with twenty years experience in Middle Eastern dancing. The school has lessons in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. The advanced classes will also learn to incorporate instruments like zills (finger cymbols), props and rhythm into their dance.

Belly dancing lessons are $16 per class or $135.00 for a ten week term. Hipnotic Bellydance is located near Morningside train station and is also accessible by bus.

More experienced belly dancers might consider instruction at the Academy of Middle Eastern Dance. The academy has venues all over Brisbane, and it's dancers are trained to perform at public functions and in competitions. Every winter, the academy presents Brisbane Winter Warm-up, four days of dance classes, shopping, shows and Safe Dance Practice lectures.

Whether you're a complete beginner, or an experience pro who could give Shakira a run for her money, belly dancing is sure to unleash your inner goddess.

Belly dancing is the funnest thing ever. We have it in my country and we have the best music to go with it. It makes you feel like an Egyptian goddess or something similiar because it gets you so involved in it that you want to shake more than the others around you so you end up having a race of who can shake their bottoms more!
