If you are not going to the Sleaze Ball over the October long weekend and feel like getting out of town (a long way out of town) then the Bellingen Global Carnival looks fantastic.

They've got about 50 different acts on 5 stages over 3 days along with workshops, activities, lots to keep the kids happy, craft stalls, food from around the world, and that's just the start. Check out the website for the full list of festival fun.

Bellingen is located 26km south of Coffs Harbour, roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. It's a beautiful area with lots to see if one day of festival going is enough.

You could either drive up (5-6 hours), catch a plane to Coffs Harbour, or take a bus to Urunga.
