I'm in Melbourne often enough - so why not write a bit about some places I've seen :)

Starting in Geelong and making its way continuously down to the delightful seaside town of Queenscliff is a rather long track called the Bellarine Rail Trail.

When the sun is shining and the day is splendid, it is best spent outside. And here is the perfect reason to get out and about with family and friends, create some beautiful memories and improve your fitness along the way.

Many people choose to ride their bike along this 32 kilometre trail starting in Geelong, or find a starting point further along to decrease the kilometres.

Not that many people walk the entire way. In one hit.

But my best friend and I did in fact walk the entire 32 kilometres in just under six hours.

Why?

For charity! After fundraising for months, we embarked on this walk to raise money and awareness for cancer research. The idea of the walk was to promote healthy lifestyle choices and reduce the risk of cancer factors. Although our legs were a little sore, after donating over $3,000 to women's cancer research, we felt it was worthwhile.

Whether you start at he beginning in Geelong, join the trail at Leopold, or grab a coffee in Drysdale before getting started, the journey truly is he destination here. Take in the delights of nature, the never ending trees, expansive blue skies, and gorgeously fresh country air.

That's not to say that arriving in Queenscliff won't be a pleasure in itself. After completing any distance along the trail, running, walking or riding, you will be entitled to something tasty to refuel!
