Our kids are our future, and because of this simple fact, it's obvious that we only want the best for them. We want them to grow up in a nurtured environment, where they can learn and flourish and get the most out of life. We want them to live without fear, and to embrace opportunities. We want them to have the best that life can offer, where there are no prejudices, and their health and wellbeing is looked after.
Luckily, there are plenty of professional services who can cater to these parental wishes, and for people in the Bellarine Peninsula and the surrounding Geelong suburbs, there is a website solely dedicated to looking after the needs of children from the region.
Bellarinekids.com.au is a fantastic website that promotes child-friendly businesses from the region- local health, wellbeing, food, entertainment and general services can all be located at the click of a button- and once a year, they bring all this information into real life, holding their
Bellarine Kids Expo (to be held on Sunday 29 June 2014).
Located at the
Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre in Ocean Grove, this annual event attracts hundreds of visitors, including parents, children, grandparents and child-carers, and offers information and entertainment for all. Many of the businesses that feature on the website have representatives on site- there to offer advice, demonstrations and information sessions on a variety of topics related to children. There are also plenty of activities for children to enjoy on the day, including face painting, a jumping castle, art and craft stalls,
Lego play areas, music and sport sessions and balloon sculpting. Some local businesses will be selling their wares in a market area for those interested in shopping for particular child-friendly items. This year, there will also be a photo booth, where you can have one free family photo taken (included in the price of entry). 400 visitors will also receive the popular Bellarine Local Bags' Of Goodness- an enviro-bag packed with locally-based products and information for children, parents and guardians.
This is a popular family event, and with free parking and a range of entertainment and information options relating to children, would be very beneficial for young families everywhere. Tickets cost $5 per family.
