During the Easter holiday period I stopped by the Beechworth Bakery in Bendigo. Due to the various Easter events and festival occurring at the same time, I was told I'd be lucky to find a carpark and be served within an hour. However, even though the carpark is on the small size, parking was available and we were served within 10-15 minutes. I expected the bakery to be packed with Easter travellers coming and going from Melbourne, but yet again I was pleasantly surprised at finding a table for two with ease.

Now Beechworth Bakery is a franchise operation, and while I've enjoyed Beechworth Bakery in Ballarat, I'm always a bit cautious. However, as usual, I need not have worried. Sure, the bakery has it's staple offerings of pies and pastries (both delicious)...

...but it also has meringue caterpillars on LSD

Coffee is ordered at the cash register where they give you one those electronic blocks of plastic with an LCD screen displaying a number, then when the strange block of plastic starts beeping obnoxiously, you know when to approach the coffee counter and collect your beverage of choice. Eftpos facilities and outdoor dinning areas are also available.
