Haighs Chocolate Factory Tours

We all know Haighs, the iconic chocolate store, that tempts us at every pass. Well, did you know they are a South Australian company and offer factory tours and tastings just 5 minutes from the city centre on Greenhill Road?

Haighs was founded in 1915 by Alfred E. Haigh. The first shop, on the Beehive Corner of Rundle Mall and King William Street, is still open today. The shop fittings have remained the same for nearly 100 years and the company remains family owned. So, it deserves all our support.

The tour takes around 20 minutes and shows you how the bitter cocoa bean is converted into a sweet delicacy. Then of course, tasting time (with a coffee). Afterwards, you will get the chance to buy factory fresh truffles, fudges, fruit centres and bars. Sometimes you may also be offered seconds.

For more information go to the Haighs website. Tours are Monday to Friday and booking are essential.
