Only a 40 minute trek from the campground, the 20 metre high Beauchamp Falls is a gem nestled in The Great Otway National Park, it's surrounded by myrtle beech, thick ferns and blackwood. The Beauchamp campground has approximately 15 sites, so I recommend arriving early to pick a good spot; get the one under the tree, it's on the right as soon as you enter the area, it's perfect.

Also don't worry about fees as this is a free camping area, this time we decided to hire a tree tent which was a totally unique experience - set up took only 15 mins. To get to the campground, you can either use the Great Ocean Road or use the route through Beech Forest. If you're using a 2WD drive, Beech Forest would be a more preferable option.

When coming through Beech Forest-Mt Sabine Road, you turn right into Binns Road (gravel) and follow the signs. There are great photo opportunities along the side of the road amongst the massive trees.

Also note that there are many others waterfalls in the area, so if you're into chasing waterfalls, you've hit the motherload. And if you fancy a dip in the beach, Apollo Bay is about 40 mins away. This was a great camping experience, and it's definitely on my list of best free campsites in Melbourne.
