There doesn't seem to be a limit to what delights the
Dendy cinema can offer. As you already know, the Dendy specialises in showing art house films instead of the usual predictable takes that are usually on offer in surrounding cinema conglomerates.
The next gem they are offering to customers is a
BBC's Last Night of the Proms experience over the weekend of Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2010.
This high-definition screening was recorded directly from the
Royal Albert Hall where it is held each year. Known as being one of the most famous music concerts in the world, it's a treasured occasion. Last year's event saw the total number of concerts reach one hundred for the first time.
As you will see and feel, the last night of the series of concerts typically have a different pace, one that is usually slower with a, 'winding down' atmosphere. The Proms' last nights often include familiar classics such as: 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and 'Rule, Brittania!' This is conductor, Jiří Bělohlávek's second Last Night and soprano Renée Fleming performs beautiful classics by Strauss, Dvořák and Smetana.
As always, The Last Night offers an atmospheric night of beautiful classical music, with the Royal Albert Hall at its most jubilant.
