If the last time you went for a walk outside was when Harold and Madge were still living in Ramsay Street then it's well and truly time to jump off that treadmill, pause the WiiFit and grab your sneakers. Even if you haven't seen the light of day for a while never fear, this place is for people of all fitness levels. I'm speaking of none other than the Bay Run around Iron Cove in Canada Bay.

Don't be fooled or discouraged by the word 'run', The Bay Run is for runners, cyclists and walkers alike. The 7km trail loops around the Iron Cove foreshore, past mangroves, parks and the odd rowing club. If you're there early enough, you will often see training sessions in progress.
Fantastic water and city views make this a great place to head. It is easy to get to by car, and it is a free way to get some good exercise. Simply begin anywhere along the trail, start walking, stay on the path and if walking at a moderate pace, about an hour or so later you will end up back where you started. You can walk as much or as little of the trail as you like.
The Bay Run is also popular with dog owners and there are plenty of water stops along the way for your canines to have a drink. There are bubblers for the humans too. Most importantly, be sure to stay sun safe, particularly as summer approaches.
