Baroque specialists
Jamie Hey and
Laura Vaughan perform works by
Telemann, Couperin, Masse and Anon on Saturday 7th January 11.30 am - 12.30 pm.
Laura Vaughan's speciality is the Viola da Gamba. A Viol looks very similar to a cello, however, it has 6 strings like a guitar and not 4. The frets are not permanently set and are therefore movable, the Viols are also held and tuned differently than cellos.
Ms Vaughan records regularly for ABC Classic FM and is passionate about the Viol. She also appears regularly with ensembles such as Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, La Compañia, Pinchgut Opera, Ironwood, Astra, Adelaide Baroque, Song Company and Opera Australia.
This recital is a part of the Peninsula Summer Music Festival, an entire week of musical performances at varied venues across the stunning Peninsula accompanied by the finest food and wine. From 3rd - 9th January 2012.
Performing at St Johns in Flinders, tickets start from $40 with lunch provided for another $20. Must be booked at the same time as tickets.
Or spoil yourself with a recital package priced at $95.
