Friendly service coupled with a modern Italian menu ensures satisfies.

A chalkboard out the front invites me daily to stop there. is always coming up with new, fresh ways to share good wine and food with patrons. Often they will serve complimentary (and complementary) food with the drinks that you order on a Friday after work.

The thing that keeps me coming back (as cliché as it may sound) is the ambience. There is an air of sophistication here that is often lacking in bars and cafés around Pyrmont. Customers talk to each other comfortably and food and wine is served with a professional level of subtlety and charm.

There are a selection of wines starting at around $6 and although my palette has been trained on cask wine, it is clear that the sommelier has experience matching the Shiraz served to the menu.

I find that in the morning it can get a bit busy if you need to grab a coffee on the go, as they are a favourite with local businesses in the mornings. If you are running a bit behind schedule you could get stuck behind an order of four or more coffees quite easily. The baristas make consistently perfect coffee, ensuring any wait is well rewarded.

is priced well. I am a uni student and can visit there about once a fortnight. If you find out their special of the season you can generally get something like "drinks and nibbles for two" for around twenty bucks.

It is right out the front of the 443 bus stop (departs from QVB) and is across the road from John Street tram stop (the stop after the casino). I recommend taking public transport because the wine often served in carafes.
