Located in the idyllic outer suburb of Lynbrook, Banjo Paterson Park is a peaceful picnic location.
Banjo Paterson Park is home to an expansive lake.
Centred around a lake populated by ducks just waiting to be fed, the park is rarely busy despite being the primary open space for the nearby cluster of houses. The lake has a viewing platform, pictured below, although swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Barbecue facilities and sheltered picnic tables are available, along with a large wooden playground that children of all ages will adore - even I was tempted to scale the climbing frame. A walking track encircles the park. Despite the bumpy gravel path, you can usually spot parents wheeling prams around the track.
Banjo Paterson Park is located close to
Lynbrook Village, which includes a large Coles supermarket, fast food outlets, cafes, and a few gift shops.
Once Lynbrook railway station opens, it will be a breeze to get to the park, which is right next to the station. At the moment it is a little frustrating, as the park borders the train line but the closest station is Merinda Park.
