The kitchens at Bakers Delight will be overrun with buns on Saturday April 9 as part of their annual Bundraiser Day. Hundreds of thousands of tasty hot cross treats will be freshly baked in more than 630 stores to raise money for childrens' hospitals across Australia and New Zealand. Last year, the Easter Bundraiser raised over $128,000. Donations contribute to the purchase of essential medical equipment, rehabilitation therapies, and air ambulance services.
Traditional Hot Cross Buns
The buns are all hand crafted and come in a variety of flavours. If you're a fan of the original hot cross bun recipe with fruit and spices, then pick up the Traditional buns. Sourdough lovers are catered for with the Authentic Sourdough buns. If you aren't into the fruit but still want the fresh dough and spices then the Fruitless buns are for you. Chocoholics should head straight for the Choc Chip, as each individual bun contains over 100 chocolate chips. If you haven't had time for your morning coffee, then combine your two loves with the coffee flavoured Mocha hot cross buns. Six-packs retail for $6.50 and the children's hospital in each state will receive $1 from every six-pack sold. This means you can indulge yourself in the name of a good cause.
