Are you interested in travelling overseas and using your skillsĀ for the greater good whilst visiting nations around the globe?
The Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) program is a volunteer initiative funded by the
Australian Government. This program provides airfares, allowances and insurances. Hmmm, starting to pique your interest yet? Sounds to me like an event worth attending.
Free information sessions are being held in Adelaide on the 9th May, 2017. Specifically, you will explore how you can get involved, what countries you can visit and what you can do overseas in conjunction with
AVID's partner organisations .
The sectors most commonly requested by overseas partners include:
Agriculture, forestry and fisheries
Business and management,
Communications, marketing and media
Community and social development
Disaster and emergency management
Education and training
Health
Information technology
Law and justice
Skilled trades
When asked to reflect on their volunteer experience, many returned volunteers talk about the strong relationships they formed with their local colleagues, community members and other volunteers and gained valuable career experience.[break]
]Adelaide will be hosting two convenient sessions for you to attend at lunchtime or during the evening at central locations.
