The awards opened in Adelaide on Thursday 18th August at the South Australian Museum.

The competition, formerly known as ANZANG is currently in its 12th year, and the competition continues to grow each year. In 2016, there were more than 2000 entries received from around the world. Only 100 of those were shortlisted for the competition and the best of the best were awarded prizes.

The exhibition is a stunning display of beautiful, breathtaking nature photography taken by professionals, amateurs and children photographers. The photos were all taken within the bioregions of Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea.

The annual event is owned and run by the South Australian Museum and their special exhibition gallery is a perfect place to thoroughly enjoy and be inspired by the extraordinary photographs.
