Australia Day celebrations in the city have always been popular attracting over 35,000 people each year.
You can partake in all the fun because the good news is - it's free!
The
City of Adelaide comes alive on
Australia Day evening with a community parade at 6pm, followed by a concert at
Elder Park, then ending with a spectacular fireworks display simulcast to music on
Mix 102.3.
This year's entertainment line up is sure to attract thousands to the magnificent open air concert location at
Elder Park. Complete with food and drink stalls, it's the perfect place to take in the evening atmosphere and celebrate the day.
Popular Aussie dance and singing sensation
Timomatic will headline the
"Australia Day in the City" concert along with his dancers prior to the fireworks finale.
Timomatic was a judge on Channel Nine's
Australia's Got Talent series, has won two
APRA awards, and last year had three international hit singles.
Sarah De Bono, the 'pocket rocket' finalist on Channel 9's
The Voice in 2012, will also perform at the concert. Sarah's career has gone from strength to strength - from recording a new single, to supporting and touring with many international artists.
"Australia Day in the City" is growing in popularity each year because it appeals to everybody, including families. I have attended and everybody is in good spirits and it's a great night out for free.
The international cricket at the
Adelaide Oval and Stage 6 of the
Tour Down Under is also happening on Australia Day in the CBD.
"Australia Day in the City" is definitely the place to be on
26th January 2014 to get into the spirit of
Australia Day and celebrate all things Aussie!
Happy Australia Day!
