If you've ever been to
Covent Garden, you can't have missed the slew of street performers there, working the crowds. Carefully chosen by the people running Covent Garden, they're all incredibly talented and often in a short space of time attract a huge audience.
One of the most amazing things about the street performers in Covent Garden is the diversity of the acts - you'll see jugglers, musicians, acrobats, comedians, magicians, and a few that spray themselves in silver paint and just stand there. But the thing is, even the ones that just stand there do it really well. Ever tried it? It's not easy.
You might have seen one or two street performers about town and thought, "I could do that." Well, now you have a chance.
On Monday 28th November, at 10.30am sharp, Covent Garden organisers will be giving anyone who wants to have a go the chance to audition to be a street performer in central London.
All those taking part will be given precisely three minutes to impress the six judges. They're looking for a high level of skill, entertainment, and the ability to connect with a crowd (unless you're just standing there, of course).
The judges come from the Courtyard Musicians Association, the Street Performers Association and representatives from Covent Garden itself.
Within seven days of the audition, every performer will receive written feedback regarding their act, and told whether or not they have passed.
