Get your wallets out to start your Christmas shopping early with an amazing artists sale at the
Metro Arts Substation No 9 in Norman Park. Three darlings of the Brisbane art scene are teaming up to bring you artworks, ceramics, prints, cards and calendars for all your gift giving this season.
In what is a great communal space for artists, this samples, seconds and special prices sale is a lovely way to find exquisite pieces straight from the place they were made and locals get to see what happens in the 'big building on the corner' which has become an artist hub and workshop space.
Sharon Muir has studied ceramics at RMIT and creates a range of homewares through modelling from her own molds. She creates a range of little animal pots along with graphic vessels, bowls and dishes. Her style is unique and recognisable through her use of modern shapes, bright colours and geometric and repetitive patterns.
Christine Donaldson from Pizzaz Art will be showcasing her original artworks and prints from a body of work inspired by the saris of India, Balinese and Thai cultures. She will also be selling paper goods featuring her vibrant artworks including cards and calendars.
Another ceramicist, Pru Morrison makes pieces which feature her other skills in etching, painting and drawing. Her comic-book style in finishing her vessels is now iconic to her brand and each piece boasts a completely unique shape and artwork.
This is a one day only event so make sure you get in quick to get the best bargains and get your Christmas shopping well under way for a fraction of the original price.
