From the 22nd to the 25th of October,
Art Sydney 2009 will be taking over the Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park.
Designed primarily as a showroom, rather than a gallery, this exhibition will feature a diverse collection of works catering to a variety of budgets.
Art Sydney begins on Thursday night, with an exclusive preview from 5-9pm. Costing $50, it includes complimentary drinks and live entertainment, while providing keen visitors the chance to have first running at the merchandise.
For the remaining days,
tickets will drop to $20. On Friday, the hours will be 12-9pm, with live music starting at 6pm. Saturday will go from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday will be open from 10am to 5pm.
Over 80
galleries will have a presence at Art Sydney. There will also be a selection of special features. These include
Off The Wall, which will provide a platform to 12 handpicked undiscovered artists, and
The Studio, where unrepresented artists will be able to establish their own mini-galleries in which all works will be priced under $5000.
Pleasingly,
children's workshops will be operating, giving parents the opportunity to leave the kids in a fun, supervised area. So while the grown-ups are hunting for something to decorate the home or office with, the young'uns will be creating masterpieces of their own.
