Take a journey through the weird and wonderful, the amazing, and the breathtaking at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Featuring a large collection of art from many periods, including modern art, the gallery has a collection to inspire everyone.
Gallery 15
The Art Gallery does not solely focus on one art period. Whether you're a fan of the renaissance, a cubism buff or a lover of all things impressionism you'll find something to admire. The gallery displays Australia, European, Aboriginal and Asian art. You can either spend your time getting lost as you meander through the rooms experiencing everything on offer, or take the educational route and pick up an audio tour or join one of the guided tours. You'll learn a lot about the gallery and its works, plus the best bit is that it is all free.
Memento: Contemporary Photographic Portraits
The gallery offers special exhibits, some which are free and some which incur a small admission fee. The Art Gallery also offers free tours aimed and children, and child friendly activities for families to take part in. Whether you have a budding artist or are trying to open your child to the world of art, it is worth a look at their
programs.
