Take your inner child out for an aqua fun
Aqua bike riding is a head-turning new addition to Audley Boatshed. It offers an exciting and unique way of exploring the finest unspoiled wilderness in Royal National Park while burning off some calories.
Made of tough polyethylene plastic, the bike looks like a three giant pumpkins floating on the water (especially if it is an orange coloured one) but it is strong enough to withstand any rough conditions and rental abuse. When riding the aqua bike, you need to steer with the front wheel for directions and pedal with the two rear wheels rolling forward.
My experience with the aqua bike riding is it is very simple to operate and fun to ride, no special training is necessary, but you need to be prepared that it requires a lot of physical strength and endurance, especially from your thigh muscle groups. After 15 minutes on the bike, my thigh muscles were crying for a stop and I totally understood why the maximum rental hour I could choose is 30 minutes. But my friend was very happy, she kept telling me that she was thinking about the beautiful bikini beach body, thinking about the beautiful round bum, the cellulite free legs. I think maybe that gave me enough momentum to continue pushing my limits.
My suggestion for you is bring your exercise music or have more chat with your paddle buddy. Don't focus on the pain - focus on the fun instead. It has turned out to be a great workout with beautiful moments of absorbing the scenic and tranquil nature around us.
After the aqua bike riding, my friend suggested we give our arms a good workout so we hired a canoe for one hour. This time we moved much faster so we explored much further than before and eventually reached the waters end and had a lovely picnic on the creek rocks. On our way back there were more aqua bikes around on the water, but the riders were mainly kids with their parents. We had a good laugh and thought the parents wouldn't have any trouble putting them to sleep tonight.
It doesn't matter how old you are, take your inner child out for a fun day, you will be well rewarded. Maybe got another idea for your bucket list?
