The Apple Fun Park in Donnybrook certainly stands out and is one of the most fascinating parks I have seen. It catches your eye immediately, purely because of the size and the colourful tall slides easily spotted from the Main Road.

Donnybrook is a beautiful little town and at 9am on a Sunday is thriving with Farmers Markets for that fresh produce bargain and the Apple Park was already filling up with bright eyed children. There are three sections to the park each equally amazing.

The toddlers section with safe suitable slides, seesaws and various animal shaped equipment all on soft clean sand.
The middle section is more suited to primary school aged children with larger slides, more challenging and interesting obstacles and a very tall tower to call out from.

The third section to the right consists of plenty of swings allowing for the crowds and various equipment to hang from, spin on, climb up and relax on. Not forgetting all of the big kids out there the slides are adult friendly as I discovered and if you dare the small surfboard is challenging.

There is also a large shaded area with clean BBQs, plenty of seating and even an exercise circuit for those of you that like to take advantage of spare time to workout while the children are occupied. The equipment is easy to view from the shaded area and the exercise circuit so that you can keep an eye on your children whilst relaxing.

As your children will not want to leave in a hurry I would suggest taking advantage of the lovely shaded BBQ/picnic area and making an outing of it. If down south it is well worth visiting and unlike many attractions is easily accessible from the main road without a time consuming detour. Children are wowed by this park and you will undoubtedly find yourself in awe of it and wishing they made them like this in the good old days.

It certainly brought out the big kid in me and was a lovely stop to break up a long drive.
