Nestled away in the busy streets of The Parade rests this little charm of a cafe. As soon as you walk through the doors you're greeted with pink and white decorative walls and chequered floor that looks more like Fun-Ville than '60s décor disaster.
Everything about this shop takes you to America; from the feel, to the food, to the grocery items like Cap'n Crunch, pop-tarts and Reece's Pieces that you only think exists in American TV shows.
It's warm and inviting and the food immediately captures your attention. Delectable treats line the shelves as you ponder on the options; huge pieces of chocolate cake, tarts, cupcakes (obviously), sundaes, before you come across their dessert apples dipped in thick caramel and Belgian chocolate and rolled in other such toppings. Then there's the "Whoopies" that look incredible and are apparently so popular in the US and UK that people queue for hours just to get one.
Once you've scanned the shelves, you come across the drinks menu; outrageous, unique flavoured milkshakes, soft drinks and lemonade perfect for a summer treat or hot chocolates and coffee when the winter kicks in.
The Cupcake Cafe also offers cupcake decorating parties that any kid would love to get involved in, high teas and catering.
The food at this humble little store is to die for; the cakes are especially moist, the rich chocolate satisfies and doesn't leave you regretting it, the lemonade is citrusy and refreshing and anything you try will leave you wanting more. The service is great too with friendly and helpful staff. As a whole, it will leave you looking forward to your next visit!
If you're looking for something new, don't walk past this unique little gem!
