So that's great telling us not use it when cooking but what alternatives do you suggest???

People cooked without foil until 40-50 years ago. Bake potatoes in their skins in the oven with no covering. Roast a chicken with no covering. And so on. Or use lids.

If I knew the answer to that I'd be a millionaire now, wouldn't I? :) However, I've heard that you can use wax paper/baking paper made out of a non-petroleum product processing to line the foil so the water does not drip back into the food. But that sounds so messy and I haven't tried it. I'm pretty sure there'd be sodden paper all over the bird. I suppose you have an opening for the invention of an intelligent alternative to foil here.
