The hottest West African Party comes to Adelaide Fringe 2014!

During February and March Adelaide will be swaying to the rhythms and sounds of West Africa.

Afrikarts Australia is proud to present Afrikan Experience!

Afrikan Experience features 3 internationally acclaimed groups over 5 sessions at the Dom Polski Centre, 232 Angas Street, Adelaide.

Together they will treat your senses with the amazing colours, addictive rhythms, honeysweet harmonies and gravity-defying dance routines of West Africa

Performers include the highly acclaimed Master Drummer, Bortier Okoe of Ghana; world-renowned dancer and choreographer of Broadway fame, Jean-Marc Agbogba; and the amazing Asanti Dance Theatre of Melbourne.


Highlights include:

Telema Bii, led by Master Drummer Bortier Okoe, brings to life the wonderful world of West African music through high-spirited drumming, exuberant and dynamic dances and charming traditional songs with honey harmonies.

They are an impressive and vibrant performance troupe who electrify their audiences.

Their 2011 Adelaide Fringe Festival performance 'Footprints Through Africa' sold out both shows and received critical acclaim
from reviewers.The hottest West African Party comes to Adelaide Fringe 2014!

Asanti Dance Theatre directed by internationally recognised dancer, choreographer and musician, Appiah Annan, will present an unforgettable experience of African dance, music and phenomenal acrobatics!

With over 100 unique dance routines, these artists will leave you speechless with their undulating torsos, flips through rings of fire, raw energy, exhilarating dance moves and phenomenal acrobatics.

Sun of Africa features world-renown dancer and choreographer Jean-Marc Agbogba from Ivory Coast, backed by a dynamic rhythm section of djembes and big drums.

The vibrant and mesmerising 'Zaouli' Mask dance, and the mystery and mystique of the indescribable 'Sapro' Mask dance accompanied by the high- energy rhythms of the djembe and the thrill of the big drums, are what have really enthralled audiences worldwide.
