The Africultures Festival is the biggest annual African Festival in Australia. This one-day only event will be held on Saturday 14th of March 2015 at Auburn Park, Auburn NSW and will present a vibrant celebration of African Food, Culture, Music and Art.Running from 11am to 6:00pm, this event is free to attend and all are welcome. Throughout the day event-goers will be treated a a rich and diverse showcase of modern African culture; you'll be invited to sample freshly prepared traditional dishes, discover Africa's burgeoning music scene, witness extraordinary acrobatics and sports tournaments and explore the popular arts scene through exhibitions, poetry and comedy.
The event programme will be spread across 5 main areas throughout the day: Kilimanjaro Stage – The main stage will play host to a range of artists, dancers, drummers and unique African performances. There will also be a Fashion Show in which the public will be invited to participate.
Nile Food Court –This area will offer African Cuisine at its best. Come and enjoy food a variety to sweet and savoury dishes and snacks throughout the day.Kanu Sports Zone – Come cheer the African Nations teams participating in the one day soccer tournament. You can even have your photo taken with the African Nations teams in the MONEYGRAM!
Watoto's Corner – This is the dedicated Kids Zone where the little ones can get stuck into a range of interactive activities, including face painting, African drums and dancing lessons. There's also a great kids playground to explore.African Market Place – Here event-goers will find over 45 commercial and information stalls selling African products such as clothing, fabrics, homewares and accessories.
Auburn Park is located within walking distance from Auburn Train Station and limited parking is available.
