What better way to spend an afternoon than learning African drumming? As a team building experience or even just for fun; learning how to drum is a great way to release stress, laugh out loud and get your groove on!

The class started out with some warm up exercises to loosen everyone's limbs and vocals. Then we learnt how to hold the west African drums, called djembes, and how to play some simple beats.

Once we had mastered the art of the two main rhythm, we split the room and each side played a different beat. The overall effect was incredible filling the room with energy and excitement.

Next we learnt a simple African folk song. Our instructor took the lead and the rest of us all joined in at the right times, clapping along when we could. The joyful music combined with the electrifying beat also allowed us all to learn a little about west African culture.

The instructor was patient and creative in teaching the craft.
Professional interactive workshops are available for corporate groups, schools, children, community and not-for-profit groups.
