i don't really understand how "dog friendly" and koala friendly, are in the same article. Everytime i read about koalas in animal rescue centres, attacks by dogs, are frequently mentioned, as the reason for the koalas being hurt. Places i go, that have signs saying "dogs allowed on leads" - well, many people don't read those signs, and say things like "he's really friendly" as their dog leaps around and scares the kids. (happens often at the beach and playgrounds too).

Henley Beach, grab some fish and chips and then sit in the park by the jetty and watch it all unfold, you may even be blessed with a Pelican for company

I live in Athelstone and we always have koala's out the front and crossing the road. We even have a Koala sign on the side of our property to warn people to watch out for koala's when driving. I've also had an Echidna at my front door before.

Yes, there are cookies, biscuits, muffins etc, that you would have with tea of coffee but not actual meals. There are also some exotic teas flavoured teas... worth a visit for sure...:)

Is there food available as well, or just coffee?? It looks like a lovely little place. I always think book/coffee shop combos are a great idea.

Great article Samantha! I wish I got down to the Willunga Farmers Market more often, I'm really not too far away (Moana) but I just don't go down there enough. My friends have the Fat Goose Fruits stall down there, and their mandarin ice blocks are delicious in summer, and there is also someone who sells lavender who has great lavender brownies. :)

Love this place - as my little sister is disabled and wheelchair bound we often go here to use the Liberty Swing. She absolutely loves it (it brings the biggest smile to her face when we tell her we are going there!); it's great that they have this swing which you can put the wheelchair on, so that kids like her don't miss out on the fun things!

Saigon Gate on Prospect Road, Kilburn, has beautiful food. It's not open after 7 but is often packed with people in the daytime. My favourite is their tofu vermicilli dish, and of course, their beef noodle soup! So fresh!

The Rezz at Newton (opposite Thorndon Pk) has a play area in their cafe. Also Hogs Breath at Holden Hill has a little kiddy area with video games.

St Peters Bakery on Stephen Tce....Best pies! Queues stretch out the door during lunch times..They have a sandwich bar too so they sell rolls, breads, donuts, etc.
