Adelaide Fringe is the most awesome time to be in our fine city. The 2011 Adelaide Fringe broke all previous records so it's a safe bet that the 2012 will be even bigger and better - that's right, just when you thought we'd seen the best ever, a new year slaps us in the face with even more artists, venues and Fringe madness.
The poster comp is your chance to be part of something local, national and even international. The winning design will be plastered over buses, banners, café walls, social media, merchandise and more. You name it; the Adelaide Fringe can make their mark on it. And this time, it could be your mark.
Bulgarian designer Kamen Goranov won the Adelaide Fringe 2011 poster competition
The 2012 theme is Tour of the Unexpected and Adelaide Fringe organisers are after a poster which 'conjures up images of the ultimate tour where you get to expand your mind, be entertained and be changed forever.' That's a pretty terrific design brief which pretty much opens it up to everything you can think of in the world.
Anyone and everyone can enter this comp. There are a few technical specifications and you'll need to download the entry form, but all of that can be done online. In addition to the huge amount of recognition and respect winning will get you, you will also receive a $1000 travel voucher.
Poster submissions must be in by 5pm on 1 September; so get your paints, charcoals, graphic design tools, modelling clay or whatever flots your artistic boat and get cracking.
The streets of Adelaide are calling, and they want your design plastered all over them.
