The Adam Linsday Gordon Craft Cottage is home to a variety of colourful gifts and souvenirs. Named after the poet and run on the goodwill of volunteers, this cosy building sits in the historic Ballarat Botanical Gardens, on the shore of Lake Wendouree .

With quilting, painted china, embroidery and toys it is obvious that this cottage is much-loved and often visited. Also on sale are carved wooden walking sticks and boot racks, as well as post cards and ornaments.

Adam Lindsay Gordon was a poet and politician – and good looking, as they say! His bust sits outside the cottage with a verse of his inscribed in gold below;

%%"Question not but live and labour
Till yon goal be won
Helping every feeble neighbour
Seeking help from none"
%%

Admission to the Craft Cottage is free. More information about the cottage can be found through the Visit Ballarat website .
