What could be nicer than a walk through the rainforest? How about an educational self guided journey where you can learn more about edible and medicinal plants?

The Aboriginal Plant Trail at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Cootha (Mt Cootha Road, Brisbane) is a self guided tour that provides information on the way plants were used by some Aboriginal people. The trail takes visitors through the Australian Rainforest, the oldest section of garden in the Botanic Gardens, where plants used for medicine, food and shelter can be found. The path is easily navigated and sign posts provide information on how these plants were (and still are) used.

The Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Cootha are open from 8.00am until 5.00pm daily and entry to the gardens is free. The Aboriginal Plant Trail takes about thirty minutes to complete.
