Aboriginal Cultural Experience

Home > Things to do in Brisbane > Dancing | Music
Published November 29th 2010
Before European settlement, the Yuggera tribe of Aborigines inhabited the area now known as Brisbane and Ipswich. The Aboriginal Cultural Experience takes participants on a journey of what that time may have been like.

The Yuggera Aboriginal Dancers lead a cultural experience in the bushland of Kangaroo Point that presents their culture and allows interactive participation. Guests will listen to talks about Aboriginal life and the history of the land, and will witness and participate in traditional activities such as song and dance, playing Aboriginal instruments, boomerang throwing, clay painting and food tasting.

The Aboriginal Cultural Experience takes place on Thursday from 12.00 – 1.00pm, and Saturday night from 7.00 – 8.30pm. The Saturday night program includes a barbeque dinner and drinks.
