Shanti means peace.

Those of you reading who have been through a stressful time in your life may be interested to know that it was a devastating divorce over 20 years ago that sent Kim Fraser (former barrister and single mother of two), now known as living guru, Shakti Durga, on the path of spiritual enlightenment.

Heart bruised and stressed at work, Kim's search began. Starting with a meditation class where she "felt a natural affinity and warmth..." her spiritual journey unfolded. However, it was a recurring bout of bronchitis and weeks of failing antibiotics which led her to an energy healing session that changed the course of her life from barrister to guru over many years of devotion and study.

After attending the healing session she was well within days and "simply fascinated". Feeling compelled to try to understand the positive experience Kim began to study healing and spirituality.

Years later along her path of awakening, Shakti Durga vividly and emotionally recounts experiencing an entire room as a vortex of white energy, akin to a spiritual tornado, full of light, people and spiritual messages. There was a shift of consciousness and energy and she knew she had perceived divine guidance.

After a period of intense study spanning years, fasting, meditating and gratefulness she was given a blessing to become a guru from her teacher and given the spiritual name of Shakti Durga. People may find it confronting to address others using a 'non conformist, spiritual name' but the people given spiritual names feel it reveals a true path for their soul.

Fast forward to 2016:
Now Shakti Durga is the founder, spiritual head and inspirational leader of Shanti Mission (Peace Mission), with the head office based in Australia. The not-for-profit charity operates a wide-variety of projects and programs with the sole aim of creating an age of peace on earth: inner peace and peace between people.

Shakti Durga is a living guru, which means she helps to literally ignite the spirits of her students. See Guru FAQs here .

There are retreats available and here's what a few of the retreat participants had to say:

"Deep transformative inner changes & realisations that will last forever, so grateful." – J.D.

"I've never felt safer and more loved for an entire week than I have been during this retreat." - N.S.

"An incredible experience of transformation, insight, fun, love, laughter & tears. Thank you so much for creating such a safe & loving environment for me to go within & free myself. Namaste, much love." - G.K.

"I loved this retreat. There was a spirit of community and deep love. It transmitted all barriers in age, colour, religion, race or creed. There was healing on all levels."
