With spring just around the corner, it’s time to get planting so when the new season rolls over, your garden will be blooming with gorgeous flowers.
You can catch episodes of ABC’s
Gardening Australia on TV to get your gardening tips or head straight to this year’s Sydney’s largest garden party, the
ABC's Gardening Australia Expo to meet the
Gardening Australia team in person.
The Sydney Showground at the Sydney Olympic Park will be converted into a large nursery over the weekend of August 28-30 and by the end of it you’ll have all your gardening queries answered.
Throw all your Ps and Qs at the
Gardening Australia team as well as other industry experts over at the
Ask It, Solve It Stage.
Practical demonstrations on how to get those plants growing tall and healthy using the right techniques will be on show at the
Gardening Theatre Stage. Expect to see Tino Carnevale, one of the hosts of the
Gardening Australia team, demonstrate how to grow vegies in your garden and make it part of your next meal. See
here to find out who else will be taking the stage.
The expo will also host the first international floral art show,
Flora Australis, the first of its kind in the country. It will showcase competitors who have created unique, traditional and contemporary gardening trends to receive first prize in the competition.
And just like going to any real nursery, the expo will be your one-stop-shop for all your gardening needs like plants, pots, and the fancy sculptures to spruce up any old garden at the
Gardener’s Village.
But the best thing is that you can take advantage of the Plant & Product Pick-Up where for your convenience you can leave your bulky purchases before picking it up at the end of the day.
As much as gardening is for adults, the kids too will also be able to enjoy the day out at the
ABC for Kids Activity Area with colouring books, storytelling and games to keep the kids entertained. A special guest appearance will also be made by Frank and Buster from the kids ABC TV show,
The Koala Brothers.
To avoid queuing up you can purchase your tickets
online. This is particularly handy for groups of 10 or more who will need to fill out a form
