Everyone has heard of the Big Day Out, and many inner suburbs residents have been treated to a free festival performance when the concert is held in a neighbouring suburb.

But now the little people have rebelled and demanded their own Little Day Out - a free festival for babies and toddlers, and their parents. The Facebook group Baby & Toddler Destinations was quick to respond with assistance from Splash Adelaide , and will be held in Adelaide's glamorous revitalised Victoria Square.

There's a huge list of activities for kids and toddlers, and adults have not been forgotten either with many market stalls and food trucks in force.

Amalie's Play Space will provide a safe and enriching environment for children aged 0-6 years old, while giving parents and carers a cosy place to relax and meet others.

The Adelaide Bubble Man will be blowing billions of bubbles, while popular kiddie mascots including Peppa Pig and Queen Elsa (from Frozen) will be putting smiles on the face of your little one during this one day free festival.

With the World Cup being a recent memory, young children will love the opportunity to play in the Little Kickers soccer pen and develop their skills at .

A giant play pen in Victoria Square will offer more activities for kids, with Drumming Jo and DJs Done & Dusted bringing you plenty of musical entertainment throughout the day.

Breast feeding mums and toddlers are also catered for with a special Changing Marquee.

Of course it's not all about kids - there's plenty to keep adults active with a mix of market stalls selling toys for kids, children's clothes, and other goodies aimed at young families.

Both you and your little ones won't take long to build up an appetite, so a fleet of food trucks will tease you with cooking smells until you give in. Think Asian inspired Phat Buddha Rolls and deliciously tender Argentinian steaks from Chimichurri Grill , with your choice of great coffee and desserts from Entropy (vegan), and ChurrOz. If coffee's not your cup of tea, then Slush Happy will be on hand to give you real fruit slushies at .

is being held on Saturday August 30 from 10am until 4pm in Victoria Square. For more about this fun free festival and details of other free things to do, swing over the Baby & Toddler Destinations Facebook page. Baby & Toddler Destinations is run by a couple of young mums who found it hard to find information about baby friendly activities, so decided to run their own page. Judging from the number of Likes they have, they do a great job!

Splash Adelaide also has page but it's a little shorter on detail.
