A Day on The Green present
'Billy Idol' at Leconfield Wines, McLaren Vale on Sunday 22nd March. Rock icon Billy Idol is returning to Australia for his first concert tour since 2002. Idol's band includes lead-guitarist Steve Stevens and supporting him are special guests 'Cheap Trick', 'The Angels' and 'Choirboys'.
Idol first got his claim to fame in the band 'Generation X'. He moved to New York City in 1981 where he joined up with his partner on guitar, Steve Stevens. Together they produced 8 albums including Billy Idol, Rebel Yell, Whiplash Smile, Charmed Life, Cyberpunk, Devil's Playground, Happy Holidays and his tour album Kings & Queens of the Underground.
Over the years Idol has won numerous awards including 'Best Male Rock Vocal Performance', 'Best Direction' and 'Best Male Video' just to name a few. Idol's tour 'Kings & Queens of The Underground' is to promote his new album of the same name. Primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as producer to two songs, including 'Can't Break Me Down'. The tour will include favourite hits 'Rebel Yell', 'White Wedding', 'Eyes Without a Face', 'Dancing with myself' and more.
