In a society of consumerism, women and men are brainwashed into believing, that you have to spend a lot of money on expensive brands, to stay looking good. This is a fallacy. Natural products are the best and they don't cost a fortune.
Below are 5 natural beauty treatments that you will find in your kitchen, handed down to me by my beautiful Mum. They work, I swear by them. Now I pass them on to you.
You can pay between $10-$50 for an exfoliator these days when there is a much simpler, cheaper option that scrubs away dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and rejuvenated.
Pour half a tablespoon of Olive Oil in the palm of your hand.
Add half a tablespoon of sugar.
Gently massage mixture in circular motions on to your face and nose. After massaging, rinse off with warm water and apply some moisturiser. How good does your face feel?
TEA BAGS FOR TIRED EYES Cold, wet teabags are great for tired eyes. I often put them on my eyes for ten minutes before cleansing and applying my makeup.
I use unused teabags and run them under a cold tap, squeezing out any excess water but you can apply used teabags. Once they cool down, run under cold water. Not only do you get an eyelift but also a cuppa (great for when you are hungover or haven't slept - trust me).
EGG MASK This is the best secret Mum gave me.
Take out 2 bowls. Crack 1 egg into the bowls, separating the white and the yolk. The yolk can be used in your cooking later or discarded.
Massage the egg white over your face. Find somewhere quiet to lie down and wait patiently for at least 10 minutes for the egg white to dry.
You will be unable to smile or make facial expressions. Look in the mirror, you look 5 years younger (unfortunately you have to wash the eggwhite off).
After rinsing you will see the difference in your skin immediately. I really love the egg white treatment, I find it diminishes the appearance of lines and makes you glow.
Don't chuck your avocado skins in the bin. Avocado is a natural moisturiser. Massage your body lightly with the skin, leave for ten minutes and rinse.
OLIVE OIL, VINEGAR & MILK
These 3 products are magical, especially the olive oil and vinegar.
Olive Oil can be used as a hair treatment for dry, lifeless hair. Apply to hair, and cover your head with gladwrap. Leave for 20 minutes and shampoo out. I have slept with it in my hair when my hair has been in bad condition but that's entirely up to you.
A few drops of olive oil in the bath, helps to soften the skin.
Vinegar can be used to whiten teeth and lighten freckles and hair. I have only ever used it as a teeth whitener.
Last but not least. Pour a cup of fullcream milk in your bath and pretend you are Cleopatra minus that nasty snake.
