The southern hemisphere’s largest indoor boat show will be held from the 2nd to 6th July at the
Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
The 49th Melbourne Boat Show will feature a range of stage presentations, prizes and exhibitions sure to spark the interest of any boating or fishing enthusiast. Most importantly, all the latest boats and accessories will be on display for visitors to get up close to, from upgraded engines to luxury dream boats.
The boat show opens daily from 10am and until 9pm Thursday to Saturday. A daily pass is $15 for adults and $10 for concession. If you don’t want to miss out on anything then a two day pass is also available for $25. Purchasing tickets
online will also save you 12% and guarantee no waiting in lines. There is plenty of undercover
parking at the Exhibition Center for a flat rate of $10 on weekends, or you can take a number of
trams from the city.
For those looking to start sailing, boat license testing will be available where successful participants can receive a certificate to gain their
Recreational Boat Operator License. There will also be useful presentations on vessel maintenance, marine electronics and fishing. A
prize draw will also be held daily, so make sure to put your name down for a chance to win a brand new boat.
One of the most popular activities for kids at the show is
‘Flathead Fred’s Fun Fishin’ Show’ where they can learn first-hand about fishing. Also popular is the ‘Anaconda Indoor Rock Climbing Wall’ as well as the ‘Giant Titanic Slide’, a super inflatable ride which is free. With over 100 exhibitors, there is no shortage of things to see for both kids and adults.
