Ditch the underwear and buy a unique gift
Flowers, gift packs, chocolates and vouchers; these are all suitable, acceptable gifts for loved ones who have everything or the new friend whose birthday party you are going to but don't know what they would like.

Close friend or relative, or the person you've just met, you no doubt at some point have found yourself wondering what to buy for an occasion. You could buy them the presents I mentioned above and I'm sure they would be received with a grateful heart by most, but if you're looking for something a little different and very unique, these gifts might just be for you (or them).

Give them an animal they don't have to clean up after

They've been talking about getting an animal for a while now but they work a lot. They are animal lovers but are jet setters and don't feel they can give a cat or dog they attention they deserve.

There is another way to feel like they've contributed to helping an animal without having to clean up after them; which is good considering some of the creatures I'm about to tell you about would make far more mess on the carpet than a puppy!

Sabu, Australia Zoo

Elephants, lizards, camels and koalas are just a few of the animals the famous Australia Zoo has up for 'adoption'.

An animal of your choice can be 'adopted' for amounts from $50 up to $1,500 and aids in the day to day care and expenditure of looking after these beautiful creatures big and small.

If you adopt an animal from Australia Zoo, the recipient will receive various gifts depending on the amount you've contributed. The $50 pack includes a certificate of appreciation, fact sheet of the chosen species, a photo of the adopted animal, exclusive Australia Zoo online membership and an autographed photo of the Irwin family.

This gift will hold a special place in the heart of a friend or loved one who admired the late and great Steve Irwin; a man whose passion for animals was worth more than the most expensive gift to these animals. Help continue on Steve's legacy and look after the animals he loved so much.

Name a Star

Ever looked up at the world above and wondered what's out there, if you will ever see the world from above, if you will ever be able to honestly say you can tell the difference between the Southern Cross and the Saucepan? Name-A-Star won't help you with any of these things, but it will give you the assurance that you will know at least one star in the solar system.

Naming of a star on the International Star Registry will not change the scientific name of the star, it will not be listed anywhere but on this registry, but it will give the recipient a sense of owning something far bigger than they could have imagined.

For $110 within Australia, the recipient will received a gift pack including

- a certificate detailing the star's name, the registration date and the coordinates of the star;
- an astronomical chart showing the location, name and coordinates of the star;
- a naming and astronomy guide entitled 'Our Place in the Cosmos';
- an explanatory letter;
- if requested, a personalised note to the recipient on parchment.

The star can be named anything you'd like; it could be the name of the person receiving the gift, a name with special meaning to that person or anything 35 characters or shorter (and of course appropriate).

Dub them a Lord, Laird or Lady of Scotland

Everyone knows owning a home is a big responsibility. You have to look after it, keep the lawns mowed, weed, take the rubbish out and so on and so fourth.

What if there was a way to own land without having to do any of these things and be dubbed a Lord, Laird or Lady at the same time?

Highland Titles in Scotland now make this dream a reality.

Scottish Highlands
Scottish Highlands

Situated in Glencoe Wood, part of the Keil Estate approximately 15 miles southwest in Glencoe, in the Scottish Highlands, plots of land can be purchased for as little as $49.99 AUS.

Okay, the piece of land is only a foot square, but it's still something to call their own. Larger plots of land can be purchased. 10 square feet costs $79.99 AUS, 100 square feet costs $149.99 AUS and for the land owner who wants it all, 1000 square feet costs $459.99 AUS.

Because the land is strictly for conservation, they will never be able to build on the land, however owners of 100 square feet or more are welcome to camp in Glencoe Woods and because it is understood trees may hinder their stay on their own plot, they are welcome to camp anywhere in the woods.

With the map supplied with the welcome pack, Lords, Lairds and Ladies alike are encouraged to visit their little piece of paradise and see the amazing work being done to preserve this beautiful part of the world.

Cuff-Links
Cuff-Links to show you're a Lord in style

To celebrate their new found title or to add to the gift, accessories are available to purchase from the website including cuff-links, ties, tea towels, lapel pins and key rings.

As an official and proud owner of one square foot of this beautiful land, this Lady bids you farewell and recommends you head over to the Highland Tiles website and secure a piece of this beautiful world for a loved one or friend, or even as a gift to yourself.
